OVAL RACING: It was one of the biggest events of the year as the Adrian Flux Arena played host to the Halloween Carnival last Saturday.

A huge night of family entertainment was enjoyed by an almost sell-out crowd.

After the 2022 staging, the decision was taken to move to ticket-only for this season’s renewal.

Had the weather forecast been better, it would probably have been a sell-out again with only around five per cent of tickets left available at start time.

From start to finish it was a superb evening of family fun entertainment; a brilliant night of banger and stock car action, the spooky fancy dress parade, to the simply stunning gigantic firework display courtesy of Whitelightning Pyrotechnics.

In the bangers, Kieran Bowman (178) capped off a superb year with a win in the 25-and-Under Championship of Great Britain, adding to the two-litre World Final win and third place in the Unlimited Banger World Final.

Bowman is really on a roll at the minute.

Having been on the podium of the Under-25 Championship every year since 2020, the West Norfolk driver held his nerve and picked his way through the melee to come from third to first in the last few laps.

It was good to see him finally take the title at the last time of trying as he will be too old to compete in it next year

Elsewhere results didn’t really fall the way of the locals: Darren Fendley (673) was on track but the rub of the green avoided him and he didn’t feature in the results as you would expect.

Ross Cooper (604) came away with a third place in a heat race and Sam Coote (155) followed him home in fourth.

What a way to finish the main season last Saturday. Thanks to all who made it possible.

We have just a month off until we start our winter fixtures.

We’re back trackside on Sunday, December 10 with more banger action.
