King’s Lynn pub-goers are being treated to a drink by Beautiful South and Housemartins singer Paul Heaton today (Monday) to celebrate his sixtieth birthday.
The town’s The Eagle, on Norfolk Street, was one of 60 pubs across the UK and Ireland to be picked by the star where customers could enjoy a free drink.
On Twitter Mr Heaton said: “The hope is to bring people together on the day, whilst recognising that many folk who bought my records or showed me support over the years, could do with a wee party, as we come out of cover and hit potential financial struggles.”
He added people could “enjoy a birthday drink on me (until the money runs out or the bar runs dry!)”
