FOOTBALL: Seven was far from heaven for King’s Lynn Town as they crashed to a 7-1 defeat at home to Colney Heath in the Premier Division of the Eastern Region Women’s League.

Lynn fell behind after 18 minutes and were three adrift by the half-hour mark.

With no substitutes available, an injury to defender Shanice Burch reduced the Linnets to 10 players but they did manage to pull a goal back through captain Tiff Forshaw.

Any thoughts of a comeback were quickly squashed with the visitors scoring four more goals.

The A10 Auto Centre player of the match was Alice Collins.

Seven also spelled agony for KLSC in Division Two of the Norfolk Women’s League. However, at least that was just the aggregate score with the Lynn side going down 5-2 at leaders Caister.

The visitors’ goals came from Taeya Mayes and Jordan Turner.
