MOTOR SPORT: A new Formula 1 season gets under way this weekend and King’s Lynn’s George Russell will be at the heart of it.

The new Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver will be lining up alongside multiple world champion Lewis Hamilton for the opening round in Bahrain after switching from Williams.

Russell and Hamilton have both struggled to tame their new cars’ ‘bouncing’ hiccup, which has affected their testing, resulting in a series of set-up changes to try to stop the aerodynamic disruption, which has not been seen in F1 for about 40 years.

Lynn-born Russell said: “Testing is complete and we had a lot to analyse before the first race but the team are ready for the fight.”
