Plans have been submitted to West Norfolk Council for a new sports pavilion at Thornham Village Hall.

The proposals include the demolition of the existing building.

The new single-storey, timber-clad design features a terrace on the outside, electronic scoreboard for use by sports teams and a serving hatch for refreshments.

The interior includes a high ceilinged lobby/refreshment area, a kitchen and a room set aside for a club house or committee room to seat 40 to 50 people.

To one side of the lobby will be two changing areas for teams of 14 people each with accompanying showers, while on the other side will be a smaller changing area and shower for match day officials, plus toilets including facilities for those less able.

The application says the new pavilion is expected to play a large part in the local community and will hopefully help improve access to sport for those with disabilities.
