Dave Watkins with a beautiful large rainbow at Blackdyke.

ANGLING: There have been consistent numbers through the week but extreme weather changes have meant it has been hard to pinpoint where the fish were at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery.

A consistent performer were the red apps, black and green patterns, hot head damsels and booby, a couple of feet from the bottom.

Cats whiskers and snakes also worked on their day.

Once you worked out what level the fish were at, it became easier because one day they were taking off the top and then after the first real frost, their bellies were on the floor.

Some large fish did make an appearance as did a few brown.

The next restock was due to take place yesterday.
