The skies above Hunstanton burst into light for the town’s fireworks display.

Organised by Hunstanton and District Round Table 615, the stunning display was accompanied by a laser and music show which attracted a record crowd of more than 5,000 people.

Organisers said they saw the biggest turnout in more than 40 years and apologised to those they had to turn away.

Chairman Wes Attwell said: “It was absolutely awesome – it’s such a unique venue on the cliff top. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and everyone at the event said it was absolutely amazing.

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came and was patient enough to sit in the queues to get in.

“We would also like to thank NBC Construction who supplied the lighting towers, fencing and stage and Hunstanton Scout Group who were our car park attendants.”

Although the final amount of money raised is not yet known, Mr Attwell said it was “a record-breaking amount” which will benefit local charities.
