Brian Keyte caught a seven-pounder of the boat.

ANGLING: It might have been a week of mixed results at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery but when catches were good, they were fantastic.

Many large trout – both brown and rainbow – were caught with Montanas, daddies, blob, white/green or black/green lure impressing, although a variety of fly and method working did the trick.

Fish were on the surface and also a few inches down. Garrett Boik caught one of the largest fish of the week, while Dean Burton made a record catch using a blob.

Meanwhile, in the boats, Brian Keyte hauled in a seven pound catch.

Anglers at the Hockwold complex are reminded to play fish quickly with minimum handling and, in line with good fishing etiquette, boat anglers need to respect bank anglers and avoid crossing their line.
