Lisa Pyatt after her run.

ATHLETICS: Three Renegades Runners took part in the Manchester Marathon on Sunday.

Running in her first marathon for nine years, Lisa Pyatt put all her hard training to the test on a surprisingly undulating course on a marathon billed as being the flattest in the UK.

Pyatt showed she still had the ability to run to a high standard, finishing in three hours and 40 minutes to qualify comfortably for the 2023 London Marathon.

Andy Doyle finally got to run the race after training hard for the April 2020 event only for it to be cancelled due to Covid.

Not deterred, he trained hard again and finally reached the start line, with a sub-four hour target on his race debut at the event. It was a target he smashed with a fine time in the M50 age category of three hours and 57 minutes.

Paul Richardson was always going to have a testing day after running the London Marathon only a week earlier, but showed he was up to the back-to-back marathon challenge, finishing in a respectable time of 4:07.
