The Hunstanton Promenade Parkrun core team of Kate Dunbar, Jacqui Scott, Sophy Tarsey, John Crowley, Michael Shaw and Dave Plummer.

ATHLETICS: Hunstanton Promenade Parkrun is back up and running in time to celebrate its second anniversary.

Hunstanton Promenade Parkrun started in October 2019, but due to the pandemic, had to close for 16 months.

It has returned every Saturday at 9am.

Parkrun is a free 5km run, jog or walk with people of all abilities welcome. The focus is very much on the taking part and supporting each other.

There are two courses – the summer route starts on the cliff tops near the Salad Bowl Cafe and runs up to the lighthouse for three laps followed by a short partial lap.

The winter route, which runs from early November, starts and finishes near Hunstanton Sailing Club, progressing along the promenade towards the fun fair and back, for two laps.

Parkrun spokesman John Crowley said: “We are reliant on volunteers who support the core team week to week.

“Volunteering can be weekly or occasional, any small help is much appreciated with training provided.

“Parkrun represents positivity and togetherness with support and warm encouragement and offers an opportunity to escape, to connect with nature to find health and happiness through regular community physical activity,” he added.
