Stan Brown with his catch on a black hopper.

ANGLING: Fishing has been difficult this past week at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery, especially off the bank.

However, boats have been doing well, especially with daddies slightly submerged.

Other flies working have been snakes and some very bright and colourful lures.

Cold overnight temperatures and crisp mornings have seen an active early morning rise the past couple of days.

The water temperature is consistently low now, which is a good stimulus for better catch results.
