Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was threatened while out walking his dog.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was walking close to the junction of Salters Road in Gaywood when he was verbally abused by a man, a spokesman for Norfolk Police said.

A few minutes later the suspect, who was now on a bicycle, approached the victim again and this time threatened to attack him with a hatchet.

It happened just after noon on Wednesday, September 29 in Columbia Way. The suspect has been described as a white male aged in his 20s, about 5ft 8ins tall, clean shaven, with dark hair.

He is believed to have been wearing a dark jacket with a white top underneath, and dark trousers.

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Imogen Douglas-De-Fenzi on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
