Police investigating a hit-and-run in which a Feltwell man died are appealing for help to trace the driver of a car.

Leslie Norton, 56, was found with serious leg and head injuries in Mulberry Close at around 11pm on September 28. He died in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge two days later.

A post-mortem examination, which took place on Tuesday confirmed Mr Norton had died from a head injury consistent with a road traffic collision.

Following enquiries, officers believe Mr Norton was involved in a collision with a car which failed to stop at the scene.

A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Norfolk Police today released CCTV footage of a car they are keen to trace and a spokesman said officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area between 9.30pm and 11.45pm on Tuesday, September 28.

The spokesman said: “They would particularly like to speak to the driver of a car which was captured on CCTV, travelling along Bell Street and passing the Londis store just before 10.10pm, before going onto the High Street, passing the One Stop Shop.

“It’s believed the occupant/s of the car may have seen the collision and may be able to help police with their enquiries.”
