ATHLETICS: The 14th School Games National Finals at Loughborough University was full of fantastic performances across many sports.

West Norfolk T20 para- athlete Lily Edwards was part of Team Paris and just missed out on the medals in the shot put.

Edwards threw really well and, under the ‘Raza points’ system, was the only athlete throwing a 4kg shot, with a best throw of 3.63m.

She enjoyed the whole experience but especially loved the opening ceremony and made many new friends.

Fresh home from Tokyo 2020, Olympians Holly Bradshaw and Alice Dearing opened up proceedings on the Thursday, whilst judo Paralympian Chris Skelley visited wheelchair tennis athletes on the final day following his successful gold journey at Tokyo 2020.

This was Edwards’ final outing at the schools event but it will hopefully enhance her senior athlete career.

She thanked her team managers, who supported her throughout the competition.
