FOOTBALL: Jack Prentice and DaVillian Katabana found the net for Downham Town as they bounced back from their first defeat of the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North season.

Their first home match of the campaign brought a 2-0 defeat of Diss Town.

The hosts played some nice football in spells, without being overly threatened in their own box. Luke Reed was their man of the match.

Ben Coe got a hat-trick in Heacham’s 6-0 win over Gorleston Reserves in the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Mummery Cup.

John Flanagan helped himself to a double and substitute Adam Reeve wrapped things up.

Gayton United also enjoyed a goal spree with Liam Rudd and Charlie Brindle both netting trebles in a 7-2 Cyril Ballyn Cup win over Attleborough Town Reserves. Adrian Hill got the other goal.

Gayton Reserves also featured in a high-scoring encounter but most of the goals went in their net during a 5-1 CS Morley Cup defeat at AFC Lynn Napier.

Danny Jezeph 2, Luis Duarte, Kieren Shipp and Ryan Reynolds got the home nap-hand with Steven Tindall scoring for Gayton.

Dersingham Rovers also enjoyed a 5-1 cup success, seeing off Thorpe St Andrew Reserves thanks to goals from Joe Collison, Lewis Curson, Zac Fountain, Ryan Scott and Alex Kittle.

In league action, Castle Acre Swifts drew 3-3 at Beccles Caxton in Division Two with Daniel King, Ben Carlton and Deklin Ramsden on their scoresheet.

Ashley Payne and Brad Kennedy struck to maintain AFC Walpole’s 100 per cent start to the Cambs League Senior B Division season with a 2-0 win over Linton Granta Reserves.

λ King’s Lynn Town chalked up their first Eastern Region Women’s League Premier Division win in style. 

Tiff Forshaw 2, Oksana Imanalijeva, Amy Magnus and Ella Gavaghan got their goals in a 5-0 win over St Ives Town at the Walks.
