The Walks in King’s Lynn was a riot of colour for the town’s Pride event.

Last year’s Pride was cancelled due to Covid restrictions, but the annual event made a scaled-back return last Saturday with a socially distanced “pink picnic”.

Around 200 people wore glitter, rainbow colours and flowers while enjoying a picnic in The Walks.

Jo Rust, of Unison West Norfolk branch which supported the event, said: “Everyone was glad to be able to join something in person rather than online and we’re all looking forward to going back to our full Pride celebrations next year.

“It was lighthearted and lifted our spirits after being restricted for so long.”

The event was supported by a number of local businesses and organisations.

Morrisons donated doughnuts, water and fruit juice, while Just Essentials sent along a face painter and staff from Bar and Beyond provided free items and special offers.
