A bungalow in Narborough was left gutted after a fire broke out at the property yesterday (Thursday) morning.

Reports suggest two other properties were also damaged by the fire but not to the same extent.

Fire crews, police and the ambulance service attended the blaze in Meadow Close at around 10.15am.

At least nine appliances from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service were sent, with crews attending from King’s Lynn, Downham Market, Methwold, Dereham and Swaffham, plus a drone unit.

Meadow Close was cordoned off by police while the emergency services dealt with the fire, with visibility badly affected by smoke spreading from the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said later that all residents had been accounted for.

Early indications suggested a woman and a dog escaped from the property, the roof of which has been completely destroyed by the fire.
