Old Hunstanton will be buzzing with activity for a two-day special celebration event starting today (Friday).

“Celebrating 2021” will see a host of events in the seaside village including a scarecrow trail today and tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to 4pm.

A spokesman said: “Old Hunstanton village is thrilled to be hosting a fun event this weekend.

“The village has come together as a community to celebrate after a difficult 2020 for everyone and looks forward to welcoming friends to enjoy this beautiful, historical, coastal village.

“We have floral displays in the church and 14 gardens are taking part in open gardens.

“Points of historical interest throughout the village have been pinpointed by a scarecrow trail.

“The village hall will provide lunch and refreshments and there will be stalls in the village hall garden and in the vicarage garden.”

Open gardens visits will cost £5 a day.

The organisers have said funds raised from the event will go towards supporting the ongoing village hall restorations, the church and other community projects.

Sunday will see a morning service at St Mary’s Church  followed by evening music at 7pm with Hunstanton Concert Band.
