Work is due to begin on Sunday to install new traffic lights at Wootton Gap.

The signals at the junction of Wootton Road, Low Road, Castle Rising Road and Grimston Road in King’s Lynn are being replaced, with work set to last for six weeks.

Castle Rising Road will be closed from Monday throughout the works and three-way temporary lights will be in place. Low Road will also be closed on Sunday for one day only.

Norfolk County Council said the work means the lights can be repositioned and a traffic island removed, with an improved pavement where Low Road joins the junction.

The work will be carried out in stages, removing the old equipment and cables and installing new infrastructure underground. The new lights will be monitored and tested over the following weeks. Diversions will be in place.
