West Norfolk residents are being urged to share their views about a controversial proposal for an incinerator at Wisbech.

MVV Environment wants to build an energy-from-waste combined heat and power incinerator on land at Algores Way.

The proposal, which has sparked objections, spans West Norfolk and Cambridgeshire and West Norfolk borough and Norfolk county councils will produce impact reports.

Richard Blunt, borough council cabinet member for development and regeneration, said: “The responsibility for deciding whether to approve or refuse this application lies with the secretary of state not with the local authorities.

“We are statutory consultees and will provide our own views direct to the consultation on this application.

“What is really important is that any members of the public, businesses, or parish councils ensure that they have their say, by providing their comments direct to Medworth CHP Ltd.”
