The Westacre Theatre Company is back after lockdown with its production of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.
There will be six evening performances between Thursday, July 29 and Saturday, August 7.
The cast will be treading the boards of a new open-air stage with raked seating, sound system and a canvas canopy to keep audiences dry.
A spokesman said: “Outdoor performances often feel far more relaxed so the theatre hopes to attract new audiences who might not normally be tempted to venture inside their community theatre.”
• From Tuesday to Thursday there will be Theatre Tots workshops for two to seven year-olds with a fresh theme and different story each time. Sign-up for one, two or all three activities in different age groups.
Costumes and Capers on August 4, 5 and 6 will cater for eight to 11 year-olds with The Missadventures Theatre Company devising characters, stories, scenes and even whole plays.
