With the easing of Covid restrictions and more people set to return to rail travel, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has launched a new information tool which customers can use to find out which train services are the least busy.

Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern websites have added a “Find a quieter train” page to their website, which can be found under Travel Information.

Using data collected from on-train passenger counting equipment from the previous two weeks, passengers can see which services were busier than others.

The train operator hopes this will help passengers choose quieter times to travel.

A spokesman said if there is no information shown for your particular journey, it would mean information isn’t available for that train.
