Voters go to the polls in Gaywood South next week to elect their representative on Norfolk County Council.

A by-election is being held on Thursday, July 29, after sitting Conservative councillor Thomas Smith quit his seat just weeks after winning it in order to take up a job in London.

The seat will now be re-contested by five candidates: Micaela Bartrum (Labour), of Gaywood; Rob Colwell (Lib Dem), of address in West Norfolk; Michael Stone (UKIP), of King’s Lynn; Robin Talbot (Independent), of Lynn; Phil Trask (Conservative), of address in West Norfolk.

Voters can find the location of their polling station on their poll card, which should have been received in the post.

Polls will be open from 7am until 10pm. The votes will be counted on Friday, July 30, from 10am at the King’s Centre in Wellesley Street, Lynn.
