Students were able to celebrate the end of what was described as a “tough final year” with the glitz and glamour of a prom.
Held at the Knights Hill Hotel in King’s Lynn on Tuesday evening, Year 11 pupils from Smithdon High School in Hunstanton arrived in style in sports and classic cars, as well as a show-stopping hearse.
The prom, originally planned to be held last month, saw students dance the night away to classics such as Sweet Caroline and Summer of ‘69.
Headteacher John Hirst said: “Through such a tough final year, as students prepared and worked hard for their Centre Assessed Grades, it was important that they had something to look forward to.
“This was an excellent cohort of Year 11 students who have certainly been through a year of educational turmoil like no other. It is testimony to their strength and resilience that students were able to rise one more time to put on such a fantastic display of enjoyment.”
Mr Hirst also expressed his thanks to staff and parents who helped out with the prom.
