Residents are being encouraged to dig out their kitchen caddies  and outdoor food bins as weekly collections are set to resume from Monday.

Paul Kunes, cabinet member for environment, said he was delighted to see a return of the weekly service.

“Collections were suspended when social distancing rules were introduced, and we had to limit the number of crew in our waste and recycling vehicles,” he said.

“From July 19 we can add an extra crew member to each collection team and reintroduce the weekly food waste collection.”
