Henry Gosnell was third at the Holkham Future Outlaws race.

ATHLETICS: West Norfolk’s Alfie Williams hopes of improving on his bronze medal of two years ago at the England Schools Championships in Manchester were dashed.

The u19 shot putter finished fifth, just 6cm off fourth place with a 13.65m put. 

Kate and Meg Willis train regularly with West Norfolk AC but were in different teams with Kate representing Norfolk schools and Meg Cambridgeshire. 

In the senior girls 800m, Kate was fourth in her heat and came seventh overall in 2.13.49. 

Meg ran in the 400m hurdles and also finishing seventh overall in 66.79 seconds.

At the Holkham Future Outlaws 1.2-mile race, Henry Gosnell ran well to finish third in a time of 7.41mins. 

At Quadkids in Thetford, a small team from West Norfolk AC took part in the second match of the competition. 

In the Years 4/5 girls section, Myley Gilboy finished 15th overall but showed how her sprint practice was paying off by finishing fifth in the 75m in 12.1secs. 

In the 4/5 boys, Luke Anderson finished equal sixth overall and improved his howler throw by almost eight metres, throwing 21.43m. 

In the 6/7 girls Dani Wathan finished 21st overall but improved her long jump substantially to 2.94m. 

Meanwhile, in the 6/7 boys competition, Charlie Broad continued where he left off last time, finishing first overall as well as individually in the 100m, long jump and howler throw.
