Saturday family history research sessions are returning at King’s Lynn’s True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum.

Held in the Pat Midgley Research Centre, the morning sessions give those interested in their family history a chance to improve research skills.

The sessions, with experienced volunteers at the North Street museum, are for anyone –from novices to experienced genealogists.

Topics covered include background information on how to start to research, use of records including census, settlement and parish records, how to order birth, marriage and death certificates from the General Record Office or online and, the use of local records offices, libraries and family history societies.

There will also be help with searching for wills/military records, dating photographs and useful ancestry websites.

Family History sessions are held from 10.30am to 12.30pm until Saturday, July 31. The cost is £3 per session and booking is recommended as places are limited.
