Detailed plans for 49 new homes, a post office and shop at a plant nursery have been submitted to West Norfolk Council.

The project, at the Tamar Nurseries site in School Road, West Walton, was granted outline planning consent in 2017.

Now the applicants, Fountain Construction (Anglia) Ltd and Tamar Nurseries Ltd, are seeking full planning permission with detailed proposals for the appearance, layout and scale for the development.

The plans include 10 affordable homes, a new access road off School Road, an area of open space and earth banking with new trees around the existing industrial units next to the site.

A mixture of housing types is proposed, ranging from two to five-bedroom properties.

The 12-acre site currently houses retail and warehouse buildings, growing beds, offices, polytunnels, glass houses and lagoons associated with the nursery business.

Around six full and part-time jobs are expected to be created by the new shop and post office.

The council is expected to make a decision on the full planning application by the end of July.
