Communities and groups organising litter picks can contact West Norfolk Council for equipment.

The borough council is offering collection kits suitable for six people, to comply with the rule of six, consisting of litter picking sticks, hi-vis vests and bin bags.

Nathan Johnson, the council’s public open space manager, welcomed the return of community litter picks.

He said: “We’ve had enquiries from community groups and parish councils about the resumption of our support for these litter picks and we have adapted the kits to be Covid-compliant.

“They can only be used by a maximum of six people and it now includes a Covid-19 risk assessment form.”

A council spokesman pointed out the litter pick kits could only be used for litter picks on public land and not to collect fly-tipping.
