Youngsters at Twinkle Tots in King’s Lynn have been very busy in the garden, jumping at the chance to get outdoors and grow their own plants.
The nursery, on Horsley Fields, has recently given its main garden and smaller toddler garden area a bit of a makeover and the children have been keen to get involved.
Morrisons supermarket in King’s Lynn donated seeds so all the youngsters could plant sunflowers.
Staff member Sandra Grimston said: “Morrisons gave us initially a few packets of seeds and then appeared with a box full of various donations including soil and seeds to share with the rest of the nursery children, which they have been excited to use.”
The supermarket chain is giving away millions of sunflower seeds to help brighten up gardens and spread some cheer as part of its Seeds of Hope campaign.
Rose Morgan, community champion at Morrisons in Peckham, came up with the idea to “help customers plant hope for a brighter future” as lockdown restrictions start to ease.
