Peter Moss, who died last month.

An online fundraising page has been set up to raise money for a bench in memory of a popular King’s Lynn character.

A former staff member of the town’s Debenhams store has set up a Gofundme page to raise £2,000 in tribute to Peter Moss.

Mr Moss, 74, died on February 11 and he was a regular visitor to town centre shops.

The fundraising page by Kerry Usher says: “Peter Moss was a much loved character of King’s Lynn town centre, he would go in all the shops chatting to everyone always with a smile.

“He will be missed by so many people and  it would be lovely to have a bench in the town centre in his memory, a place where people can sit and remember him or eat their chips. Please help us raise the money to purchase a bench is his name. £2,000.”
