Rail users are being reminded of disruption to services from today (Friday) with the closure of London’s King’s Cross station.
The station will be closed for three days in preparation for the main stage of a major £1.2billion upgrade to the East Coast Main Line.
Network Rail, Govia Thameslink and Great Northern have said further work will take place between March and June to improve the track layout at King’s Cross and re-open a disused railway tunnel.
The work will see the current layout, which was laid 40 years ago, lifted, replaced and realigned to create more reliable passenger services.
Passengers who need to make essential journeys should check National Rail Enquiries at EastCoastUpgrade.co.uk before planning to travel.
The closure is today, Saturday and Sunday.
