Staff and pupils at a West Norfolk school were given a little lockdown lift thanks to fundraisers.
The Friends of Sandringham and West Newton Academy brought smiles to all of the children’s faces with a gift during half-term earlier this month.
Members used money raised through the sale of the group’s calendar to pay for the treats and hand delivered the packages themselves.
The calendar, sponsored by local businesses, featured images of the local area.
A spokesman for the Friends said: “We wanted to remind them all that we were thinking of them all during these difficult times and to give them something to remind them there will be a time when they will be back together again.
“We’ve received some wonderful messages of how much joy the gifts have brought and how much they have been enjoyed.”
The school, in West Newton, has been closed to most pupils since January 5 as part of the national lockdown.
