Flowers have been left at the scene of a crash in which a driver in his 20s died at Hillington.

Official details had not been released at the time of going to press, but the man had been named locally as James Pearse from the Sheringham area.

An online fundraising page has been launched to raise funds for Mr Pearse’s partner who is expecting a baby in the summer.

The crash happened at around 2.20am on Friday on the A148.

Mr Pearse, understood to be a keen fisherman, was driving a blue Audi A4 estate which hit a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three passengers, two men and a woman, suffered slight injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them and also anyone who saw the Audi prior to the crash.

Witnesses have been asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
