A West Norfolk business has paid a poignant tribute to missing windsurfer Chris Bamfield, lighting up Old Hunstanton cliffs on Christmas Eve.

Jak Ropa Professional has staged mystery location light ups throughout this month to spread Christmas cheer,

Chris Bamfield.

The surprise light-up locations have included local landmarks such as Stradsett Hall, Bircham Windmill, and King’s Lynn’s Dukes Head Hotel, Bank House and The Wenns Chop and Ale House.

On Christmas Eve, the lighting and events company started by lighting the cliffs in array of bright colours, before turning them white in tribute to Mr Bamfield.

The 65-year-old, a former senior officer at West Norfolk Council, had recently retired and was looking forward to spending more time with family when he went missing while windsurfing off Hunstanton in November.

A Jak Ropa spokesman said there had also been a few minute’s silence and Mr Bamfield’s family had been “overwhelmed” by the tribute.
