ATHLETICS: Members of the Renegade Runners took part in the Lockdown Phoenix Virtual 24-hour event in The Walks on Saturday, with seven members covering a variety of distances, with lots of fancy dress costumes worn.

The event started at 8am and went through until Sunday morning.

Jamie and Leo Munson were raising money for their late nephew Callum Pites’ Smile charity, which gives presents to children in hospital.

Leo covered 29 miles and Jamie 30, which is far out of  their comfort zones but both completed the challenge with a smile.

Karl Baxter a seasoned ultra covered 70 miles, while Kerry Taylor, another one stepping far out of her comfort zone, ran 31 miles.

Steve Bennington, who commented on the immense support he received from various Renegades during the event, covered 36 miles.

Adam Hitchcock is really getting into long distance events and, encouraging others to join him, covered 52.7 miles, while Dan North, another newbie to this level of distance, excelled, covering 51.8 miles.

It was an amazing achievement by them all and they were grateful to the support of fellow Renegades, especially Sian Freeman for bacon butties and Alan Colby for his expert photography skills.
