Youngsters at Denver Primary School turned their thoughts towards Christmas when they made traditional Christingles.
The children made their Christingles in the morning and then took part in a virtual special service broadcast from Ely Cathedral.
Headteacher Louise Jones explained members of the village’s St Mary’s Church usually help the children to make Christingles and then some of the youngsters attend an evening service.
However this year, due to Covid restrictions, the traditional celebrations could not be held and so members of the church prepared the items for the Christingles and the children made them up themselves in school.
Morrisons of Downham Market donated some of the Christingle elements including the oranges.
Mrs Jones said: “We wanted the children to still be able to make them as normal and to have as normal Christingle as possible.”
