The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will not be travelling to Sandringham this year for their traditional winter break, it emerged this week.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, the 94-year-old monarch and Prince Phillip, 99, have decided to spend Christmas “quietly” at Windsor Castle, it was reported.

The Queen has spent the festive period on the Sandringham Estate every year since 1988.

She usually travels from London to King’s Lynn by train and stays at Sandringham until around February 6, the anniversary of her accession day.
