Giant-killers King’s Lynn Town have been handed a mouth-watering trip to League One side Portsmouth in the second round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup, writes Chris Milsom.

While Lynn were defeating League Two Port Vale on Saturday, thanks to Sonny Carey’s late strike, Kenny Jackett’s men were beating Ipswich Town in extra time.

Portsmouth were FA Cup winners in 2008 and also lifted the trophy in 1939. They have also been Football League champions twice and were in the Premier League only 10 years ago.

Lynn defender Aaron Jones Tweeted: “All of my family, both mum and dad’s side, are Pompey. It’s great draw for us, just wish that we could have fans at Fratton Park to watch it.”

The tie will be played at Fratton Park over the weekend of November 27-29 with £25,500 and a place among the game’s elite in the third round for the winners. Losers will receive £8,500.
