The Rose & Crown at Snettisham has been named Editor’s Choice Dog Friendly Place to Stay in the 2021 Good Hotel Guide.
The village pub has been a hostelry since the 1300s when it was built to provide accommodation and refreshments to those building the nearby church of St Mary’s.
One of the UK’s oldest pubs, The Rose and Crown has 16 bedrooms and a number are pet friendly.
Guest’s dogs receive a welcome pack and are made to feel at home both inside and outside the premises.
Owners Jeannette and Anthony Goodrich said they were thrilled to receive the award and that dogs were an important part of the family.
Mr Goodrich said the walled garden was perfect for pets and guests and they were happy for dogs to “sit with their owners in one of our cosy bars or in our airy Garden Room”.
“A number of our bedrooms are dog friendly and dogs staying overnight are greeted with welcome packages.
“Dogs are an important part of the family, so there’s no excuse to put them kennels – bring everyone to us,” he said.
