Residents and staff enjoying a Hawaiian-themed afternoon.

Residents at a care home in King’s Lynn said “aloha” to the Pacific when staff laid on a special afternoon themed on  an exotic Hawaiian cruise.

Staff at King’s Lynn Residential in Kettlewell Lane, dressed up in sailor’s hats, grass skirts and glitter wigs for the fun event.

And they delighted some of the care home’s 41 residents with garlands of colourful paper flowers to drape around their necks.

Not to mention the cakes and afternoon tea they all got to enjoy.

A spokesman for the care home, run by Black Swan Care Group, said: “Our staff have been incredible during the lockdown restrictions, thinking of new ways to lift the spirits of our residents.

“Today they have enjoyed a Hawaiian cruise afternoon.

“They have been treated to a beautifully decorated dining room with a sea view, fantastic balloons supplied by Balloon World and a cruise-standard afternoon tea with cocktails.”

Resident Monica Webb said she had had a wonderful afternoon and could not thank the staff at King’s Lynn Residential enough for the “efforts they go to, to provide these wonderful events”.
