FOOTBALL: Ryan Fryatt came back to haunt his former employers as his stoppage-time header gave Kettering Town a 1-0 win at The Walks on Saturday, writes Chris Milsom.
King’s Lynn Town bounced back in style on Wednesday though, with a 5-0 win at Downham Town in a game played in front of 300 fans.
The Linnets scorers were Sam Kelly, Dayle Southwell from the penalty spot, a brace for Sonny Carey and Ross Barrows with a late strike.
Manager Ian Culverhouse had news about injured strike duo Adam Marriott and Michael Gash.
“Mazza (Marriott) is going to train this week and is hoping to have a few minutes tomorrow at St Albans,” said Culverhouse.
“Gashy is still poorly I’m afraid. The illness has proper knocked him for six to be honest.
“We’ve got to be patient with big Mike but when he’s ready we will welcome him back with open arms.”
The Linnets complete their pre-season campaign with another behind-closed-
doors fixture at National League South side St Albans tomorrow (2pm).
Whether Lynn can then kick-off their National League campaign at home to Yeovil Town the following Saturday remains to be seen.
