CRICKET: Downham-Stow CC juniors finished their season on Friday with a final training session, followed by an end-of-season barbecue and presentation.
It brought to an end a fantastic summer of cricket at the club when at times it looked as though no children would be able to play due to the coronavirus pandemic.
To congratulate all the juniors on their hard work throughout the summer, they were each presented with a training top, kindly provided by the Downham Tandoori, who also sponsored the cricket camp.
Downham Stow junior co-ordinator Dan Ward said: “With a challenging summer, all the juniors worked really hard in both training sessions and the games we managed to play.
“It has been fantastic to see more than 40 children week-in, week-out, playing cricket and it is a great platform to build on next season.
“The club thanks Anwar Ali at the Downham Tandoori for providing the training tops and I also thank all the coaches for their time and efforts, the parents for their support throughout and those who have volunteered to help out during sessions.”
The club are hoping to run some junior sessions during the winter and will begin junior sessions again in April.
