RUGBY UNION: West Norfolk kicked off their pre-season campaign with a players’ meeting to highlight coronavirus safety regulations and discuss ambitions for the new season, following their promotion to London North East 2.

Thursday, fitness training saw the players in good spirits and pleased to get some kind of rugby training under way, following a four-month absence since beating Reeds Weybridge in the Senior Vase regional final.

Head coach Darren Clarke said: “Training in small, isolated groups is very different for all of us but the players have settled in well to the new protocols.

“We shall adapt throughout pre-season as the guidelines from the RFU continually change.”

Both the men’s and women’s teams are now training and are welcoming new players of any age or experience to join.

The men train on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7pm, and the women on Wednesdays, 7pm.
