West Norfolk Mayor Geoff Hipperson has officially declared open a new business venture in his first engagement visit since lockdown restrictions eased.

Mr Hipperson and mayoress wife Rose had originally been invited to open new holiday accommodation at Little Massingham in April. But, due to the pandemic, they were unable to fulfil the invitation by Hugh and Heidi Symington until this month.

The mayor cut a ribbon at Hill Farm Barns holiday lets which is now open to guests.

The renovated barn conversions, which can accommodate 32 guests, have a heated indoor swimming pool, county standard tennis court and petanque court, set in 17 acres of secluded parkland.

Many original features have been kept in restoring the Georgian farm house and the converted cattle crew yards.

Mr Hipperson said: “I am very pleased to open this superb holiday accommodation, an event which was originally scheduled to take place early in April.

“It is a step forward for local commerce following the lockdown and I take this opportunity to wish every success to not only Hugh and Heidi and their suppliers, but also to all the other businesses in this area as they emerge from the restrictions.”
