CRICKET: Saturday was a day that most West Norfolk cricketers had given up hope of seeing this season.

However, the gloom of coronavirus was lifted with the return of recreational cricket at Stow Cricket Club.

An inter-club game featured guests from neighbours Downham Town and Alex and Jasper Payne, from Swaffham.

Social distancing was maintained throughout, with regular ‘sanitising’ breaks to comply with ECB rules. There was no tea break between innings but a barbecue was served after the game by Stow wicket keeper/batsman George Cook.
