Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman driver was flagged down and robbed by two men.

The victim, aged in her 20s, was driving in High Road at Saddlebow bridge, at around 11.20am last Saturday when she was flagged down by a man claiming his friend had been hurt.

She got out of her car and walked towards the river where a second man appeared and  then assaulted her. 

Both men demanded her mobile phone.

The woman managed to run back to her car and a member of the public came to her aid.

She discovered her rucksack had been stolen from her vehicle.

The victim needed medical treatment at the scene for facial injuries she suffered in the attack.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said they were appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police have released descriptions of the suspects.

The first is described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 9ins tall, of slender build with scruffy light brown hair.

He was wearing a black hooded top, dark jeans and dark shoes.

The other man was white, aged in his late 20s, 6ft tall, of stocky build, with short dark hair. He was wearing black clothing.

Anyone who saw the robbery, or noticed two men acting suspiciously in the area at around the time of the robbery, is asked to contact DC Lisa Read at King’s Lynn CID on 101.
