Members of the 12th King’s Lynn Scout Group have enjoyed a busy lockdown, taking part in a host of activities to keep boredom at bay.

Over the last few weeks, online activities have included Zoom meetings, sleepovers, hikes, drumming sessions, quiz nights and even a virtual magic show.

Last weekend saw 48 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts take part in a Camp in the House event, putting up their tents or dens, cooking their own meals and taking part in a pioneering challenge using marshmallows and spaghetti.

They also created pictures and cards to send to residents at Amberley Hall Care Home in Lynn.

The final Zoom of the weekend meeting was from Adelaide, with some of the Bloo Rovers from Scouts Australia, giving members the chance to learn more about Scouting down under.

“The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, leaders and families had a brilliant Scouting weekend full of fun,” said Beaver leader Tracey Clark.

“We have lots more events planned including a Zoom visit to the circus.”
