A new McDonald’s restaurant and a drive-through Starbucks cafe on the edge of Downham Market have been given the go-ahead.
The town council and a number of residents objected to the development in Bexwell Road, near the roundabout with the A10.
There were fears the new businesses were out of keeping with the area and would bring disruption.
But West Norfolk Council’s planning committee followed officers’ recommendation and approved the application on Monday.
Outline permission for a restaurant and take away at the site was granted in 2014.
The businesses are expected to create around 80 full and part-time jobs.
