The hospital’s chief executive Caroline Shaw: said “We can confirm today (Tuesday) that a further 11 patients – nine men aged between 76 and 93 and two women aged 90 and 92 – who had tested positive for COVID-19 have sadly died while being cared for at our hospital. Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones during this difficult time.”
This brings the number of COVID-19 related deaths at the QEH to 94. The hospital also said this week the number of people discharged after receiving treatment for the virus had risen from last week’s figure of 109 to 128.
